Hello and happy start to a fresh week! How are you feeling this morning? Dragging and tired from the weekend? Revived, energized, and ready to hit the ground running? Somewhere in between?
I had an energizing weekend. A few things that filled my cup were football watching with the family (that Friday Miami/Louisville game was thrilling, and then both GT and Georgia pulled out wins- wahoo!), enjoying our neighborhood Oktoberfest on a beautiful fall evening, and spending a rainy Sunday afternoon cooking, baking, and watching Halloween movies with the kids. This is 42. And I’m a fan.

Quick tangent: see that wall to the right of the TV where the fiddle leaf fig is? What do I do with it? I love the idea of a gallery wall, but how high up would I have to take it? Would it look better with one large piece of art? Or two large vertically stacked pieces of art? It’s my next home decor mountain to tackle and I’m stumped.
Speaking of home decor, I added decorative light plates to our powder room and switched out my taper candle for this cordless LED lamp with three brightness settings. I adored the candle, but with so many kids around when we have friends over it felt dangerous to have a lit candle in there. Instead, this lamp offers the perfect soft glow for early mornings and evenings. I like the ambiance and function it offers 48 hours of glow time before needing to be recharged. Given that I only have it on a couple of hours a day, that works out pretty well!

Ok, tangents over. Let’s focus on this week ahead. Today is going to be a get things done day for us. I’m still trying to figure out our homeschool rhythm with our new co-op structure. The kids are often ready to dive into their assigned work, so our morning time has been squashed. So I’m pivoting. Our morning time will now become our lunch time and I’m quite excited about it. The girls can hop right into lessons and by the time they are burning out, I’ll have lunch ready and we’ll rotate through our morning time activities then. Today that means reading The Hobbit and working on the puzzle currently monopolizing our dining table.
Today will be a get things done kind of day in our homeschool. I love having Monday free from activities because it makes it a really productive day for us. By Tuesday things switch into warp speed and stay that way until Friday morning. So today I’m organizing my week and picking my top three priorities. Here’s what I’ve got!
- Get outside everyday. This is a pretty easy one to accomplish with an active breed dog, but I want to challenge myself to be outside beyond our daily hike through the woods. Each day I’m going to spend at least 20 minutes in the garden (starting to sprout!), with the chickens, watering my almost dead mums, pulling yard weeds, or other outside task. I love this season; gotta make the most of it!
- Finish my gift guides. Ohh I’m SO excited about these gift guides this year. I’ve already spent a few hours compiling my ideas, but now I’m finetuning them by reading customer reviews and feedback to ensure I’m linking to the best of each option. It’s tedious, but also fun because it’s helping me with my holiday shopping at the same time!
- Eat the frog on my admin tasks. I currently have a list of appointments (dentist, derm) I need to schedule, emails I need to respond to, and gifts I need to secure and send. My goal is to have these all checked off by Friday. Gosh that’s going to feel good!
Alright, my mind is set, my coffee has kicked in, and it’s time to get rolling! What does your week look like? What will you accomplish this week? Feel free to share; I’d love to hear what’s happening in your neck of the woods!
